In 2011, “garden unique” was created as a distinct product range for the high-end garden furniture segment. Since that time it has experienced positive development. That’s because the demand for presentation opportunities in the premium garden furniture segment continues to be high in 2013. As a result, “garden unique” will for the first time occupy Hall 10.2 of the Cologne exhibition centre at this year’s spoga+gafa, which will take place from 8th to 10th September.

Thanks to this move, “garden unique” will now be able to offer more exhibitors the opportunity to display their products in an exclusive atmosphere. The accompanying designer competition has also been a big success, and there are innovations here as well. For the first time, 15 creative young designers will have the chance to win an award and be featured in an exhibition at spoga+gafa. Three winners will be selected by the jury and one will be chosen by the public.

In 2013 the competition will spotlight creative ideas for outdoor living. Everything that makes a “summer living room” more pleasant and more functional can be submitted, ranging from outdoor furniture, accessories and shade products to outdoor lighting, weatherproof flooring, plant holders and grills. A jury of experts will select 15 of the ideas submitted by creative young designers, and these ideas will be presented at spoga+gafa as prototypes in the competition exhibition.

“unique hour”: Awards Ceremony And Premium Party

On Monday, September 3, garden unique will host the “unique hour”. Starting from 6 pm, the three designs selected by the expert jury as the best submissions to the design contest “Dining Outdoors” will be presented and the awards handed to their creators. These designers will not only receive 1,000 Euro prize money each – their winning designs have also been produced as prototypes and will be exhibited during garden unique.

Following the award ceremony, visitors of garden unique and the “unique hour” are invited to a relaxed get-together and a premium party. The members of the distinguished jury will be joining the guests as well.

“Dining Outdoors”: Design Exhibition At garden unique

As well as premium garden furniture you will also find an enticing exhibition of fresh outdoor design at garden unique.

The design contest “Dining outdoors”, held in cooperation with jovoto.com, called for furniture and objects for the perfect culinary experience outdoors. And what an answer this call received! Almost 300 designs inspired were submitted. The best of these – prize winners of both the jury and the jovoto community as well as the jury’s honourable mentions – will be presented in a special exhibition at garden unique form September 2 until 4.

The jury’s three winners will be announced and awarded during the “unique Hour” on Monday, September 3. So stay tuned for news!

Exhausted from the plethora of impressions at spoga+gafa? Wanting to indulge in the luxuries of garden unique? The unique lounge is a great place to relax. Responsible for its calming and refreshing character is French designer and architect Patrick Nadeau, who is famous for his “vegetal design”: plants and living matter are a literally vital part of his designs and buildings. He is also one of the members of the garden unique design contest “Dining Outdoors”.
