Enter The Time Machine With Vincent Sheppard
- Vincen Sheppard’s Lucy lazy chair
- Vincen Sheppard’s Lucy lazy chair
- Vincent Sheppard’s Roy lazy chair from the Roxy collection
For the garden season 2013 Vincent Sheppard, the Belgian manufacturer specialised in Loyd Loom furniture, proposes fun and retro designs with innovative materials and adds new materials such as aluminium with resign wicker.
Lucy for example is a collection inspired by the 70s and brings a comfortable retro charm to outdoor spaces. Its soft, rolling forms are made of powder-coated aluminium draped in the new synthetic resin wicker, which makes it weather-proof all year round.
The Roy collection harks back even further: the chairs and tables revive the 50s with their rattan look. Their design lets the sun come out, no matter what weather.

Calma brings new outlines to outdoor spaces
- Calma’s Angle table
- Calma’s Gat collection
- Chair from Calma’s Menu collection
- Calma’s Pot collection as high and sitting tables
With its quite extraordinary design collections, Spanish manufacturer Calma brings a fresh and innovative aesthetic to patios and gardens.
Very dynamic yet surprising in its geometric simplicity is Angle, a sculptural, architectural table for large outdoor spaces. Just as striking is its finishing with a 3 mm thick layer of porcelain applied to aluminium.
An unconventional approach to outdoor seating is what defines Gat, a collection of armchairs with a design that plays with volumes and the concept of suspension.
The Menu collection is a strong statement employing bold colours and, once again, unconventional forms. The items are stackable and made form light-weight aluminium, which makes them perfect for spontaneous garden pleasures.
The Pot collection surprises with its variable form: its reversible and convertible piece can be used as low, normal or high table or even as a bucket or planter.

Skagerak Presents New Brand With A View

Beddo from With A View
Some people tell stories through culinary miracles, others through poetry, songs or writing. Skageraks’s new brand With A Vew tells stories through design. The brand’s own story is based on the belief held by the Danish manufacturer that good design is honest and takes responsibility for the world we live in. For With A View, this means only wood produced locally in Scandinavia such as oak, ash and pine is used. The furniture is designed according to classic Scandinavian design principles, but with a modern mode of expression that is more forward-looking than harking back to past.
The furniture offered by With A View adorns outdoor spaces of any kind, be it a large garden, a terrace or a balcony. Green urban oases and urban gardening are strong inspirational ideas, as well as the necessity to feel comfortable with the pieces all year ‘round, meaning that they function equally well in your indoor living room.
Manutti And The Luxury In Your Garden
- Manutti at the Selman Hotel, Marrakech
- Manutti at the Mariott, Cannes
- Manutti at Roberto’s Restaurant in Dubai
At garden unique Manutti will present the furniture you need to turn your garden into a luxury resort. These are the three most recent projects equipped with Manutti furniture and they definitely promise an extraordinary retreat from the grey everyday.
The Selman hotel, situated in the historic centre of Marrakech, is one of the most luxurious places to reside. In this location Manutti’s Malibu collection fits in beautifully with the surroundings reminiscent of Arab-Moorish influences.
Situated alongside the famous Croisette boulevard, the 5-star JW Marriott selected the Baltimore Nautic, Napoli, Trento tip-up, Zendo and Fuse collections to furnish its seaside terraces.
Roberto’s restaurant, a fine dining Italian restaurant in a contemporary setting, located in the heart of the Dubai International Financial Centre, emphasized the mundane character of its location with the Flow and Liner collections for its outside terrace.
If you’re feeling inspired head to garden unique’s booth G011/H010 to find out more about Manutti or visit their website www.manutti.com.

- Slide for Babbi
Established in 2002, Slide was the very first Italian design company to produce luminous furniture realised in polyethylene. Slide is a thoroughbred Italian company and although it is a young enterprise, it has over 20 years know-how on the manufacturing of plastic resins up its sleeve.
At garden unique, Slide will present, among others, the Juxt lamp, which is as impressive as it is simple. Designed by no other than Karim Rashid, the lamps clear-lined outer shell is in stark contrast with its inner irregular surface.
A very surprising combination is TIC TAC, thought up by Marco Acerbis. The chaise lounge is composed of two distinct parts, which on the one hand allow a regulation of the tilt of the seat or, used separately, function as a lounge chair and a table.
There are many more of Slide’s new pieces to be discovered at garden unique so be sure to visit them at booth E061 or go to www.slidedesign.it

Capture The Charm of Times Gone By: Dickson-Constant Presents New Sunbrella Renaissance
The French textile manufacturer Dickson-Constant will present its new Sunbrella collections at garden unique from September 2 until 4 in Cologne. One of the new additions is Sunbrella Renaissance. The fabric combines reclaimed and brand new Sunbrella fibre and captures a vintage charme with strong colours and a soft touch. Sunbrella Renaissance thus actually contributes actively to the preservation of the environment while offering high-end, durable and attractive upholstery fabric that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
As impressive as the new fabric are the images promoting the product. They are based on our perceptions and connotations of “Renaissance” and place period furniture and luxurious upholstery in derelict buildings, evoking a morbid yet compelling charm.
